Donkey is 18L, yet it punches well above its weight.

When you come from Pro-Series lineage including the Elephantitus and the Sindrome, you are bound to be as good as your older and bigger siblings. The Donkey is one such bag. Professional features including hip and shoulder compression, reversible shoulder straps, external pleated pocket (and more...) all wrapped up in a manageable carry perfect for daily use and abuse.

Quick Look:

Dimensions: H: 300mm x W: 350mm (at the base) and 530mm (at the flap fold) x D: 160mm
Volume: 18L (or two six packs / or 6 bottles of Bundy rum)
Weight: approx. 900g
Opening: Flap style top opening; Pro-series Messenger Bag
iGuide: 15 inch laptop in main compartment, 13 inch laptop in front pleated pocket
Material: 1000D Cordura Exterior, 300D Polyester Liner
Weather Proof

Features:

The Donkey is the third in the "Pro-Series" Messenger Bag range, and is a scaled down version of our Sindrome. It has the exact same harness system (adjustable so you can wear it over left or right shoulder), as well as foam padding and hip and shoulder compression. In a nutshell, this gives the most comfortable carry possible, especially when on a bike! Feature wise it has the same D-lock holster and exterior pleated pocket as the Sindrome. This pleated pocket can fit a 13 inch laptop inside, or a 15 inch would comfortably fit in the main compartment. Being part of the "pro-series" range it is built to withstand some serious abuse through triple layer construction (1000D Cordura exterior, 300D liner, and PVC sandwiched in the middle) while always remaining weather proof.

Construction:

Outer: 1000D Cordura. Super abrasion resistant material, proven with daily use and abuse in the rest of our Pro-Series Messenger Bag range.
Liner: 300D polyester. This lining material is weatherproof, but despite this we still have PVC sandwiched in the middle (hidden layer)

Black outer, dark grey liner, black webbing and black bartack

Dave sent me my little light grey waxed canvas Donkey around a year ago.. and in that time I've certainly dirtified it!

I use my Donkey as a daily work bag, which in my role as a Ranger with the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service means this bag visits some serious backcountry. I'll be dropped by helicopter into the Southwest National Park and spend the day investigating walking track reroutes. This means scrub bashing through garnia, bowera and scoparia (not exactly forgiving stuff) and the canvas material takes it all in its stride. No rips or tears to date. I work through winter so the Donkey has to keep out snowfall, heavy rain, and the water shaken from foliage or splashed about on my clumsy trips through swollen streams.. ...and the waxed canvas ALWAYS does its job keeping the contents of my bag dry.

The Donkey isn't a huge bag so you do need to consider what you need to pack and what you don't... that said, I certainly manage to cram some stuff inside. My daily carry? A satellite telephone, SPOT tracker, GPS, VHF radio, first aid kit, bivy bag, lunch, water bottle, note pad/pen, camera, and wet weather gear.

More than happy with my Donkey and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

I received the donkey messenger bag a couple of weeks ago.

I just want to say how rad I think it is. I ride everyday and have worn a messenger style bag for the last 6 or so years. Yours is by far the most comfortable and best designed i have ever had.
The straps are on point and super comfy.
There is lots more room than it looks.
And it looks bad ass.

I'd tossed up about getting a chrome or just anothe crumpler bag but I have to say Im super happy I went for B O Gear.

I think what tipped my over was the fact it's locally hand made by you guys in Qld.

Thanks again for a great product. I look forward to picking up more of your stuff in the future.

I have had my Donkey for about two months now ( the blue one pictured with the matching Sindrome) and it goes everywhere with me. It is the PERFECT "Every Day Carry" bag.
Although it is the smallest in the range, it will still hold a carton of beer, if you suddenly feel the need to take one home. It easily holds all my EDC stuff, including a 600ml water bottle and a hoodie, with plenty of room to spare.

This bag was part of a "Custom Build" job and Dave and the Team were very patient and helpful with my multitude of questions prior to manufacture. ( I have since ordered and received a matching Dufflay duffle bag )

I can't speak highly enough of the build quality and the materials used in the manufacture of the Donkey and the other bags. These bags are made in Australia (not many are anymore) by people that design and use them every day.

Do yourself a favour and buy a Bogear bag, it will be the best decision of your life. ( well maybe the second best )
